The Cost to End World Hunger

The United Nations has estimated the cost of ending world hunger at about $195 billion a year. Twenty-two of the world's wealthiest countries have pledged to donate this money by contributing 0.7% of their national income to international aid, but the goal has not yet been reached. While five countries have already met the goal and others have a target date set, some others, including the United States, have yet to make real progress on achieving this goal.
