World Hunger Organizations
The following organizations work to end hunger and poverty throughout the world. It is by no means a complete list, as there are many wonderful groups who work each day to make the world a better place. (This page is still under development as we add more organizations.)
UN World Food Programme - UN's food aid program that has been helping people around the world since 1963
FightHunger.org - World Food Programme site dedicated specifically to eradicting child hunger by 2015
Trees for Life International - Kansas-based nonprofit that empowers people and fights hunger and poverty by planting fruit trees and providing educational programs
America's Second Harvest: The Nation's Food Bank Network - the nation's largest charitable hunger-relief organization is a network of more than 200 food banks and food-rescue organizations
Action Against Hunger - works "to save lives by eliminating hunger through the prevention, detection, and treatment of malnutrition, especially during and after emergency situations"
The Hunger Project - global organization that emphasizes projects that empower women and lead to lasting progress in health, education, nutrition and family income

ECHO - Christian-based organization seeks to work with "community leaders in developing countries to seek hunger solutions for families growing food under difficult conditions"
Oxfam America - international relief and development organization that creates lasting solutions to poverty, hunger, and injustice
Heifer International - Heifer International combats hunger and poverty through long-term solutions that focus on sustainable development, "passing on the gift" and giving people the tools to become self-reliant
